Melbourne is consistently one of the most liveable cities in the world. Why? The food. As a food photographer and writer living in Melbourne for over 20 years, I contributed to the New York Times, Gourmet Traveller, Good Food Guide, Broadsheet, and self-published a cookbook during COVID. On this 3-hour walk, let me show you how to eat like a local. We begin by meeting in the city and end at the Queen Victoria Market. Sandwiched (ahem) in between will be bite-size samples of the city's best coffees, bakeries, chocolate, fried chicken, ice creams, and more. As we walk, I’ll share stories about the city’s food culture and my experiences as a food critic; and point out iconic landmarks along the way. If you're new to the city, it's an opportunity to make like-minded friends. "People who love to eat, are always the best people." Thank you, Julia Child. If you're a local, here are more reasons to love this city.
