one-day tour to Dandenong Ranges from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

The beautiful Dandenong Ranges are only 1 hour east of Melbourne. This tour will take you to appreciate the area and explore the beautiful natural scenery. If you wish, you can choose to take the famous Puffing Billy train! Departs Melbourne at 07:00. Note: transfer service will start 45 minutes before departure time. Leaving Melbourne east, our first stop will be Grant's Picnic Grounds, where your first activity will be a walk through the magnificent rainforest, remembering to remain quiet while searching for the elusive lyrebird. After your walk through the forest, enjoy Devonshire tea and wattle seed scones while you admire our stunning natural scenery, the forest is home to a wide variety of bird life including parrots and lyrebirds which you may have the opportunity to see. We will then head to Puffing Billy Railway Station, where passengers who choose to take the train will start their Puffing Billy train journey (optional at their own expense). After Puffing Billy we slowly drive through the rest of the forest, stopping to visit a quaint village along the way where you will enjoy lunch (own expense) or browse the local shops. Finally, we returned to Melbourne and arrived in Melbourne at about 14:00. The above itinerary and time are for reference only and may be affected by weather, traffic and other factors.
