As Sophie’s mother, Donna, prepares the guest room for the wedding, Sophie’s attention is focused on things other than her fiancé. She is trying to discover the identity of her biological father. Behind her mother’s back, she invites three possible suspects from Donna’s free past to the wedding. To Sophie’s shock – and to her mother’s surprise – they all show up. But which one will walk her down the aisle? Will one of them rekindle their love with Donna? Mamma Mia! is directed by Phyllida Lloyd, who previously directed the National Theatre’s production of The Youth of Miss Brodie, and produced by Judy Kramer and Richard East. The 2008 film of the same name, starring Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård and Julie Walters, was written, directed and produced by the same creative group and became the highest-grossing live-action musical film of all time.
