B8 group itinerary reference (subject to actual situation) Your guide will give you a detailed introduction to the two different types of gardens that Claude Monet created: his Normand Garden and the Water Garden. You will see how he framed the colorful flower beds in the same way he painted them, with great consideration and care. You will also learn about some of his famous paintings and learn about the inspiration behind them. You will have free time to wander around both gardens. The Water Garden has a pond filled with water lilies and is surrounded by weeping willows and bamboo forests. There, you will be able to see the famous green Japanese bridge that Claude Monet used in many of his famous paintings. You are welcome to sit on a bench by the pond and admire how the light reflects off the mirrored surface of the pond and changes the way you perceive the water lilies. At the Normand Garden, you will admire thousands of colorful tulips, bright blue, purple and white irises, cheerful yellow daffodils and docile little peonies. You can also admire the trellis pathway covered with nasturtiums that leads to Claude Monet's pink house, which is covered with dark green vines. Along the path, you will be able to visit the interior of his home, which was more than 40 years old. The interior of Claude Monet's home is just as vibrant as his garden, and was also decorated by the artist himself. You'll visit the artist's studio, where the walls are covered with paintings he created of his garden and family life. Climb the narrow stairs to his private apartment, and you'll notice a painting by his good friend Renoir hanging on the wall. Downstairs, you'll see his vibrant yellow dining room and bright blue and white tiled kitchen, and admire his amazing collection of Japanese prints. After touring his home, you'll be taken to the quaint chapel cemetery that Monet chose as his final resting place. You'll be able to pay your respects to this great man and thank him for adding so much beauty to this world!
