Located northeast of the Noboribetsu Onsen area in Hokkaido, this is a 450-meter-diameter crater formed by the eruption of Mt. Hiyori. The valley is dotted with countless fumaroles spewing out hot gases and hot springs. This desolate landscape is reminiscent of hell, so it is called "Hell Valley." Mount Usu is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, and four activity were observed in the 100 years of the 20th century. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Mount Usu at the Toyako Usu Geopark. The Bear Farm, located near the entrance of the Showa Shinzan cable car, raises more than 100 purebred Hokkaido brown bears. Brown bears are large wild mammals in Hokkaido. Brown bears can be fed at the Bear Farm. When they see food, they stand up and wave to visitors. They are very cute. Lake Toya is about 11 kilometers long from east to west, about 9 kilometers wide from north to south, with a circumference of 50 kilometers. The water surface is 84 meters above sea level, with an average water depth of 117.0 meters. The lake water is clear. The lake surface does not freeze in winter. It is the northernmost non-freezing lake in Japan, and the lake water is clear all year round. Mt. Yotei in Hokkaido is also called Ibara Fuji because it looks like Mt. Fuji. It basically looks like a smaller version of Mt. Fuji. It is very majestic.
