Your tour will take you to the stunning 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, made famous worldwide by Dan Brown's book, The Da Vinci Code. Here you will have time to explore the chapel and learn about the mysterious legend surrounding the whereabouts of the "Holy Grail". From here you’ll travel south to Melrose to visit the ruins of Melrose Abbey*, founded by the Cistercians in the 12th century. The Cistercians had close links with the Knights Templar and legend has it that Melrose Abbey is the burial site of Robert the Bruce’s heart, brought back from the Crusades in Moorish Spain. You will then have the opportunity to visit the statue of the great Scottish patriot William Wallace and head to nearby beautiful Scott’s View overlooking the Tweed Valley before returning to Edinburgh.** *Please note that parts of Melrose Abbey may be closed during your visit due to high-level stone inspections. Please note that the closures will vary. **Please note that if your tour departs on a Sunday, this itinerary will run in reverse order.
