Kechor Elephant Conservation CampThe local Karen community has a long history of caring for elephants and considers them part of the family. We have partnered with the local Karen community in Ban Sop Win, Chiang Mai Province to establish Kerchor ECO Elephant Park. We are not only an Elephant Park, but also an Elephant Sanctuary, with both our own elephants and those we adopt as orphaned elephants. By following our approach, we hope to educate visitors on how strong the bond is between the Karen community and their elephant family members, and spread the understanding of how elephants should be cared for, loved and pampered Riding is strictly prohibited within the project, and elephants can only exhibit natural behaviors. Most of Ker-Chor's donations and tourism revenue go toward elephant care, including habitat protection, fodder, veterinary care and rescue costs. The well-being of local people is also taken into consideration. 1.
